Lochsa Connection
Established 1986
In the mid-1980's founders Bonnie and Alan Schonefeld had a passion for whitewater, but keeping warm enough in Idaho's frigid spring runoff was a challenge. Unable to find the gear they wanted in the paddling marketplace, Bonnie started making their own gear.
Soon fellow paddlers on the Lochsa were asking her to make clothing and gear for them, too. In 1986 Lochsa Connection was launched in the living room of their mountain home. Using an old treadle sewing machine they started building the clothes and gear bags that would become the mainstay of the business.
While the company was "electrified" in 1994 when they moved into their new shop, it has remained small so every order can receive personal attention. We hope you'll enjoy your visit to our website.
Happy Boating!
