Otter Skin Facts

This unique bi-polar thermalstretch product is geared towards the water sports market, with warmth equal to 2.5 mm neoprene. A skin-like polyurethane face sheds water and minimizes the effects of evaporative cooling, while providing a wind/waterproof barrier. The inner fleece surface adds warmth and chafe free comfort. Lycra 4-way stretch assures body hugging fit, minimizing cold water exchange, and allowing full freedom of movement. It also has an anti-microbal treatment. This fabric gives great thermal protection by blocking conductive and radiative heat loss. Purchased from Malden Mills Industries, Inc.

Sport Bag Facts

Our sport bags are built tough to withstand the rigors of the outdoors as well as travel. The mesh we use is a rugged, vinyl encapsulated polyester. The packcloth has a waterproof urethane coating, while the two inch webbing straps provide additional strength.

200 weight and 300 weight

We use polar fabrics purchased from Malden Mills Industries, Inc. These are durable, double-faced piles which feature:

• A very high warmth-to-weight ratio
• Rapid drying-absorbs less than 1% of its weight in water
• Insulation when wet
• Resistance to pilling An ideal material for riverwear and outdoor activities, we offer polar products in the following weights:

300 Wt. is the heaviest, and warmest, weight in the Polar line up. Order 300 wt. for outerwear, or layering in cold conditions.

200 Wt. is a mid-weight pile with less bulk, but still enjoys a high warmth-to-weight ratio. Use as an intermediate layer or as outerwear for moderate to cool conditions.

FABRIC CARE: Cold or luke warm wash, tumble dry low or hang dry. For best results, launder garment inside out. Do not bleach or dry clean.

Ultra Fleece 2000

Ultra Fleece 2000 is an exciting fabric, with great applications for watersports. Ultra Fleece 2000 thermalstretch laminate combines the properties of a nylon/lycra shell with a lycra/velour inner surface, bonded by a windproof/breathable barrier. Four way stretch allows freedom of movement and a body hugging fit without sacrificing technical performance. The stretch velour surface features high wicking/siphoning properties for quick drying and water shedding.

Selway Stows (Super-urethane Nylon)

We use lightweight 200 denier nylon with a super-urethane coating for our Selway Stows and Selway Snack Sacks. This material has been pressure tested to 10 psi, has a breaking strength of 240 lbs./in., will survive low temperatures without cracking, flaking, or separating, and is mildew resistant. Seams are heat welded and nylon taped.

To prolong the life of your Selway Stows, protect them from abrasion and excess heat. The most common causes of abrasion on any float bag is sand in the boat and direct contact with foot pegs and other sharp objects. Keep them away from camp fires and other heat sources.

Wash in cold water with mild detergent. Hang dry

WindFree

Designed for use as an outer layer, WindFree fabrics are engineered to minimize heat loss from exposure to wind and water. Ideal for outdoor activities when harsh weather demands high-performance outer protection. WindFree fabric combines the warmth of thermal fleece fabric with a polyurethane barrier membrane that is completely windproof and highly water resistant, yet allows mo8sture vapor transmission for "breathable" comfort. This fabric is also treated with a water repellent finish that sheds rain and snow.

Packcloth

We use 430 denier nylon with a 3/4 oz. urethane coating for waterproofing. This allows for sturdy products with a relatively light weight.
